Logan View Student Council has been busy kicking off the school year for the Raiders! After summer meetings and preparations, they kicked off the school year on August 19th by leading the first-day pep rally. We are excited to welcome our new staff members to the high school: Mrs. Pearson (High School JAG), Mrs. Schwaiger (Music), and Mrs. Krekeimeier (Middle School/Freshman English).
Student Council members have also been working to plan Homecoming week, which will take place from September 28th to October 2nd. Powderpuff games for 9th-12th-grade girls, with their Raider football team coaches, will begin at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, September 30th, up on the hill. October 2nd is our busiest day, with the Homecoming Parade at 2:45 pm starting in front of the elementary and ending at the football stadium, followed by our Homecoming pep rally, the Homecoming football game against North Bend Central, and coronation to close out the day. On Saturday, October 3rd, the Homecoming dance will take place from 8:30-11:00 pm. High School students are invited to dance the night away under the big top for “The Greatest Show!” During the week, dress-up days, activities, and prizes will give students plenty to enjoy as Homecoming approaches. This year, Logan View Student Council members are adding a new element to our plan to build up school spirit. We are choosing a Raider Fan of the Week for the duration of our sports seasons, recognizing a student fan who exceeds the expectations for the atmosphere. For the week of August 31st, our Fan of the Week was Kalter Beckstrom; on September 7th, it was Will Foust; and on September 14th, it was Gaby Gomez! Keep an eye out for upcoming Student Council events and activities, including our fall blood drive with the American Red Cross on October 29th. Go Raiders!
