Since my last update, additional subcontractors have joined the efforts as the construction hit another gear. The image at the top of the article is a giant chunk of concrete that was supporting the windmill just south of the old maintenance building. The excavation of driveways, sidewalks, and other structures are progressing with haste.
A significant amount of work happened this week with the installation of the storm sewer lines that will work to distribute water to multiple drain sights across the property.
If you tried to call school this week you may have struggled to get through. This along with outages for the internet were part of a strategic move of our telecommunications, bell system, internet, fire alarm, and security systems from their scattered locations throughout the facility to a central location. The new location next to the media center creates a main hub for services to be distributed to the rest of the facility.
Crews are starting to transition away from rough carpentry and drywall to the beginning stages of finish work. Tile work in the restrooms commenced this week and on Friday, we received delivery of casework that will start to be installed later next week.
As we approach the end of July I will have the ability to schedule an open house for community members to be able to come and see the first phase of completed work. Stay tuned!
