During the informational sessions that were held for the first bond attempt the Maintenance Building was a frequent topic of discussion. This version of the maintenance building is reduced by 8,110 square feet. It has a much smaller enclosed space for small vehicles such as Vans with enough room to pull a bus into to work on if needed.
Cost of maintenance building original vs now?
The cost of the maintenance building in the first bond issue was just over $1.417 million dollars which included covered parking for the fleet of buses. The cost of the maintenance building in this version is $839,174.
Would you consider a full bus barn/maintenance to preserve buses and vehicles and increase longevity.
It was our preference to have a structure that would be able to accommodate our bus fleet in a covered and enclosed area. The feedback from patrons was not supportive of that expense.
