WRESTLER OF THE WEEK

Week 1 - Graysen Beckwith (Soph @ 138lbs)

(Beckwith Quote) - "You are not done when you are tired, you are done when the job is done."

(Streeter's Comments) - "Graysen, stepped into a varsity role at the beginning of the season despite losing a wrestle off while waiting for others to descend to their respected weights. He took full advantage of the opportunity at hand and really helped the team secure a victory vs West Point and a runner up finish at the Conestoga Invite. Graysen won his match in the dual vs West Point by pin, and then took home 4th place at the Conestoga Invite. He then turned right around on a Monday, made weight and went 3-0 at the Ponca JV Meet. We are really happy with the trajectory of his skill set. Graysen has been super coachable and has done the right things to continue getting better as a wrestler, on and off the mat."

Week 2 - Chance Foust (Sr @ 157lbs)

(C.Foust Quote) - "Success is failing 9 times but getting up 10"

(Streeter's Comments) - "Chance has been off to a hot start this season. His whole career has been defined as one that doesn't stop regardless of off-season or in-season. Chance really took his strength training to a new level this past summer and it has showed up for him on the mat this season more so than in years past. He looks laser focused this year. We are really excited to see what the season has in store for him. So far this season he is off to a 9-0 start where he was crown as tournament champion at both Conestoga and North Bend. At North Bend he dominated Class D #1 Kelby Coufal of Aquinas 10-4. With that kind of statement victory, it's clear Chance's goals are at the forefront of his mind. He is a good leader in the practice room and about equally as good of a person off the mat. His attitude difference from a year ago is what sticks out to me. He seems much more loose and really seems to just enjoy the sport and the daily rigors of wrestling. Looking forward to him continuing his hard work and being able to be mat side to watch him wrestle is a privilege in itself."
