What is National Honor Society?
National Honor Society is a nationwide association dedicated to promoting academic excellence and fostering qualities of character, leadership, and service. Membership is an honor bestowed upon a student.

Each year, members must individually earn 20 points by participating in the Helping Hands Project, Highway Clean-up, activities at the Hooper Care Center and other activities the Logan View NHS members identified as their special service projects. In addition to earning points, the members must also complete a total of 25 volunteer hours per year. *A minimum of 5 volunteer hours must be completed each semester.
Attendance at monthly meetings, held at 7:45 a.m. on the first Wednesday of every month, are mandatory.
Part 1 – Complete the online application form
Part 2 – Complete the personal essay
Part 3 – Request letters of reference
It takes time and effort to complete this process. Do not wait until the last minute! Treat this as a college or job application and remember that how you present the material reflects on you. When asking for your letters of recommendation, make sure you provide enough time for the individuals to write their letter.
In order to be eligible to apply, at the end of second semester of the school year, your weighted, cumulative GPA must be a least a 3.5. These students must also have been in attendance at Logan View for at least one semester. Completing an application process does not automatically mean that the student will become a member of NHS.
An application form can be downloaded from the NHS web page found on the Logan View website. You can also email Mrs. Hanel at firstname.lastname@example.org and request a form.
