What is National Honor Society?

National Honor Society is a nationwide association dedicated to promoting academic excellence and fostering qualities of character, leadership, and service. Membership is an honor bestowed upon a student.

Members of the Logan View NHS must maintain a 3.5 weighted, cumulative GPA.

Each semester, members must individually complete a minimum 5 hours of community service, participate in the Helping Hands Project, participate with the Highway Clean-up, participate in the Community Fall/Spring Clean-up day and participate in additional service projects the chapter has determined to participate in.

Each year, members must complete a total of 20 volunteer hours per year.

Attendance at monthly meetings, held at 7:45 a.m. on the first Friday of every month, are mandatory.

Part 1 – Complete the online application form

Part 2 – Complete the personal essay

Part 3 – Request letters of reference

It takes time and effort to complete this process. Do not wait until the last minute! Treat this as a college or job application and remember that how you present the material reflects on you. When asking for your letters of recommendation, make sure you provide enough time for the individuals to write their letter.


In order to be eligible to apply, at the end of second semester of the 2018-2019 school year, your weighted, cumulative GPA must be a least a 3.5. These students must also have been in attendance at Logan View for at least one semester.  Completing an application process does not automatically mean that the student will become a member of NHS.
