Meet Mrs. Havekost . . .

“What do you want to be when you grow up?” asked my third grade teacher. “I want to be a teacher!” I answered emphatically, because I loved going to school, reading books and helping the younger students with their “lessons” in our one-room country school, Dodge County District #18.

I still love going to school, reading books and helping Kindergarten students achieve success at Logan View Elementary.  Here is the path of my life-long learning journey:

*District #18, Hooper, Nebraska (K-6)
*Scribner High School, Scribner, Nebraska (7-12)
*University of Nebraska-Lincoln
 Dual Endorsement – B.S. in Elementary Education/Physical Education (K-6)
*Doane College – Masters in Curriculum and Instruction/Early Childhood Endorsement

Teaching young children to be readers, writers, mathematicians and scientists is my life-long passion. It has been a privilege and a pleasure to spend nearly my entire career teaching Kindergarten students (23 years in all, the last 8 of them here at Logan View). I am proud to be able to serve the students and families of the Logan View community.

My husband, John, and I live on a farm and have three grown children. In our spare time, we love to travel to see our family and friends.
