Spanish Club Receives Mini Grant

September 03, 2009

The Logan View Spanish Club received a $100 mini grant from the Nebraska International Languages Association on Aug. 31, sponsor Stephanie Iwan Flamme announced.

“Grant money will be used to help fund the annual Spanish Fair, which is planned and implemented by the Spanish IV students,” said Sra. Iwan.

This is the fifth year for the fair, which will be held on March 18, 2010. The theme is Español Es Una Isla Tropical.  All currently enrolled Spanish students as well as the entire eighth grade attend the fair.

Spanish IV students choose the theme,  plan all of the fair activities, and raise the funds to pay for activities. Annual cost of the fair is about $900.

“Since this year’s Spanish IV class is rather small, the grant is most appreciated. It will help supplement the budget and reduce the burden of fundraising on the five students. We are so grateful to NILA for choosing us for this grant,” concluded Sra. Iwan.
