Emergency Bus Route Information

Emergency Bus Routes may be followed due to hazards on the gravel roads.  Please consult the following schedule to find the pick-up point nearest you.  If you have any questions, please contact the Jr/Sr High School at 654-3317, ext. 124.  Please, stay alert to notices on television, radio and information lines.

EMERGENCY BUS ROUTES

If road conditions prohibit the safe travel of school buses on the country roads, but it is determined that the hard surfaced roads are open and safe, and if numerous days of school have already been cancelled due to bad roads, an alternative to the cancellation of school might be the utilization of emergency bus routes.  Emergency bus pick-up points will be used to transport students from those points to school instead of the regular bus routes.  Parents of students who are normally picked up by the buses in the country will be encouraged to bring these students to the pick-up points or directly to school.  Those who are not able to get to the points or to school because of the weather should notify their school and will be considered excused.  The use of these Emergency Routes instead of cancellation will be clearly announced on the radio stations and television stations listed above, and on the school information lines, (high school) 654-5566 (elementary) 654-5577.  The pick-up sites, times, and bus assignments are as follows:

Community Site Address Time
Hooper Ice Cream Parlor   7:55 a.m.
Hooper The Station 301 E Howard St 8:00 a.m.
Hooper Elementary School 400 W Maple St 7:55 a.m.

The buses will return directly to these same points after school

If it is announced that school will be starting 2 hours late and emergency bus routes will be used, these pick-up times will also be 2 hours later than indicated above.
