From standards of behavioral conduct to instructional best practices, it is the mission of the Logan View Public Schools to educate life-long learners in a nurturing, challenging and disciplined environment.
Life-long learning is:
learning to read … reading to learn;
learning to write … writing to learn;
learning to listen … listening to learn;
learning to observe … observing to learn;
learning to experiment … experimenting to learn;
learning to accept responsibility … accepting responsibility to
learn.
The Logan View Public Schools is accredited by the North
Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School
Improvement (NCA CASI). Through accreditation and related services,
NCA CASI continuously improves the quality of education and
challenges education entities to prepare each and every learner for
success.
What does accreditation mean for our
students?
Students who attend a school accredited by NCA CASI can rest
assured that their school is committed to raising student
performance and held accountable for improving student learning
on a continual basis.
Accreditation means that students have:
- qualified teachers who are continually working to improve their practices and teaching methods in order to increase student performance
- access to a rich, diverse, and sound curriculum
- access to a range of student activities and support services
- transferability of credits from school to school
- greater access to federal loans, scholarships, post secondary education, and military programs that require accreditation.
NCA CASI offers an informational public brochure; click here to save and/or print this brochure.
ACADEMIC PROMOTION
Student promotion from Kindergarten and grades 1 and 2 will be
based on the readiness of the individual student to progress to the
next grade level as judged by the teachers who have worked with the
student, the student’s parents/guardians, and the administrator.
Promotion from grades 3, 4, 5, and 6 will be based on the academic
performance of the individual student. The promotion process in the
elementary grades will include early and continuous communications
between the school and the students/parents/guardians.
To be eligible for graduation from Logan View Jr.-Sr. High School, a student must have earned 225 semester hours of credit and have completed either the prescribed General or College Preparatory educational program of study.
