Two Wrestlers Qualify for State Meet
Logan View traveled to West Point-Beemer to compete in the always tough C-2 District meet and came away with two State qualifiers in 189 lb Derek Mowinkel and 171 lb Tyler Popken.
"We're so pleased as a coaching staff at the way our kids performed this weekend, they wrestled their hearts out and gave it their all, they truly left everything on the mat," said Coach Dan Mowinkel. "Our goal going into every tournament is to hold your seed or improve it and every single young man achieved that goal."
Junior Derek Mowinkel won the schools first district championship since 2002.
Joining Mowinkel at the State tourney will be his practice partner, Tyler Popken.
The team ended with 22 wins with 17 defeats over the weekend and finished in ninth place out of 16 teams.
